Princess Connect Re: Dive has already been out in Japan for a few years now, and finally is released globally for everyone. Now to get things started this RPG has a cute cast of characters, voice acted-dialogues, animated cut scenes, and beautiful CG, has in-depth stories about different charterers and their interaction with each other. In terms of gacha mechanics, it is very generous, you can easily get so many jewels without dropping a single dime in the game, there are events every month with fresh content. So today in this Princess Connect Re Dive Beginners Guide, we will be diving into some tips and discuss some basic strategies to help you out when it comes to playing this game.
Getting Started
Story
Here you can view the main story quest progress, some cut scenes as well as more information about your waifus. Character portion is very important as you increase bond level with characters you gain some stat bonus for different characters, so try to max out affection as higher the bond level higher the stat increase and you also gain some jewels for viewing the story.
Dungeons
Dungeon can be unlocked after clearing 2-12 (Normal). There are 10 floors in each dungeon where the 10th floor has the boss. After clearing any floor you will get mana, random equipment, and sometimes memory shards and dungeon coins are given by some floors, dungeon run is given once each day.
You can retreat at will from any floor fight if your units are getting wiped out or one is on the verge of death, you can retry the battle with the same health and TP before the fight started and time the union bursts or use other strategies like changing team composition to win the fight, doing so doesn’t have any penalty so feel free to retreat any time you want. You can take the help of your clanmates by using their units but you have to pay mana for doing so. Even if you can clear the boss of the dungeon always challenge the highest difficulty unlocked by you as they give more dungeon coins.
Now the first two dungeons shouldn’t cause any problems if your units are somewhat well leveled up but the Very Hard dungeon is a tough one, the final boss is very powerful and without correct team composition you can’t defeat it, a stall team composition is Miyako, Yui, Chika, Yukari, and Pecorine. All these units are easy to acquire and are required to be at rank 7, now you can replace Pecorine for other better tanks like Jun or Nozomi other units are more or less must.
This boss has a heavy AOE magic attack and Yukari’s shield helps a lot and the goal is to run the timer out by just stalling, sometimes the boss might finish one of your units if that happens simple retreat and try again, you can also take a weak unit and place it for that unit to take the boss’s heavy attack.
Improving Characters
At the very beginning, you should focus on 5 characters and work from there, choosing a unit for their fixed role is the way to go, before you unlock the princess arena most of the content requires 5-8 units.
The core team needs to fully level up and ranked up to clear story stages and battle arena. You should first focus on at least 1-2 supports, 2 tanks, 2 physical and magic DPS, and 1 AOE healing unit. All units do not need to be fully maxed out less powerful units can use whatever you have. In this Princess Connect Re Dive Guide, we will share all the tips on how to improve and rank up your characters with the best equipment.
Equipment Refining
You don’t need to refine your equipment to rank up your characters, just equipping equipment at initial refinement is needed to rank up. Before hitting rank 7 or rank 8 don’t refine any equipment as reaching these ranks doesn’t take much time, already refined equipment gives back a fraction of refinement crystals that were used to refine it. Only at max rank you should think about refining the equipment.
Ranking and Ascension
Every unit needs 6 types of equipment to rank up, consuming that equipment on doing so after every rank you have to again farm that equipment. The power spikes for units come in Rank 4 and Rank 7 as they unlock 2 more skills so it advised using first reach rank 7 before fully upgrading the unit.
Before reaching rank 7 most unit seems lackluster as their passive skills are a big contributing factor for their efficiency. All units are can ascend to 5 stars even 1-star ones, but ascension costs memory shards so you should always prioritize one or two units to ascend first after that focus on other units.
Equipment Farming
Whenever you try to farm equipment make sure to check the various variation of drop that different stages give, an example is in the image below you can see those drops the Moonlight robe is required by Tamaki, and the Sun rod is required by Hatsune so if you happen to have those charterers then farming this stage will be very efficient, but do not worry too much as each and every equipment will be required by some characters at some point down the line. The equipment at the left and middle have higher chances to drop than the right one.
Guild House
This is where your units can be placed and you can modify and decorate this place. There are items here that provide free mana, exp potions, stamina and skip tickets. Various furniture can be purchased from the shop which cost rupees you can also gift your charterers stuff to increase their affection. After clearing the bosses of dungeons you get stamina generating items, make sure to add them to the guild house.
Clan
Clans have their own playstyle so make sure to check what sort of clan you are getting into, they have casual and competitive if you are only playing for fun or just for collecting waifus this is for you and if you want to be competitive then the other one it is. You can also request equipment in the clan where others can donate you for rupees.
Clan Battle
For casual players clan battle shouldn’t be taken too seriously daily you should try to attack 2 times or at least one time, you can do a few trials and find a good team composition, and not do not blindly attack the boss try to come up with some strategies.
For competitive players, you have to attack 3 times daily and in trials try to maximize your damage. During the clan battle, you should try to upgrade the characters that are required for clearing specific bosses, each day you should have at least 100k mana to borrow your clan mates’ units. Makato is SSS tier for clan battles for her def-shredding skill, Suzuna is another great character for early clan battles.
Battle Arena and Princess Arena
Here you can challenge other players in PvP battles in 1vs1 teams and 3vs3 teams. It is recommended to challenge bots at first as they have bad team comp and they make an easy target to get a higher ranking, every time you make a new record some amount of jewels are awarded so strive to rank as far as you can.
At higher ranks, you get more arena coins per hour so try to rank up after your rank falls down. Princess arena also works in a similar manner but since it is a 3vs3 fight make sure to adjust your team composition according to the enemies.
Shops
These are the various shops to use your coins and amultes to buy memory shards and never buy equipment no matter how desperate you are.
Bonus Shop
These randomly open when you are doing story stages and they have the equipment and exp potions, you should buy all the equipment as they are very cheap as compared to spending stamina to get them.
Dungeon Shop
The priority for shards is Yukari until 2 stars then Nozomi if you don’t have her and then Maho but ascending Nozomi to 4 stars will take priority over Maho.
Arena Shop
Priority is Monika if you don’t have her then Tamaki and if you want Rino you can go for her.
Princess Arena
Hatsune, Anna, and Miyako all are very decent units you can go for whoever you like
Divine Amulet
Don’t use amulets for anything other than limited characters as you can farm all units from different sources but limited characters memory shards can only be obtained through divine amulets.
Gacha
You can roll gacha for jewels in hopes of getting your favorite characters. Now there is a normal gacha which give free equipment 2 times every day don’t forget to claim them. Then we have premium and focus where you roll for characters, in focus gacha we have a featured character that has increased summoning rate as compared to other units in that pool. Premium has the standard 3-star units with the same summoning rate.
This game has a spark system and each pull will give you 1 Character Exchange Point, You can use 300 Point to trade for 1 of the Featured Characters in the Banner.
Strongest 1 star character
Yukari
She is easily one of the top-tier units for nearly all game modes except clan battles, her abilities include magic negating barrier, healing, and TP boost makes her one of the best units to invest in from the early days.
Yui
One of the best team healing units and is recommended to ascend her to 2 stars to really feel her power, her healing scales with magic power.
Pecorine
She’s a good physical tank with self-healing capability but falls off later as compared to Miyako but if you were not lucky enough to roll tanks like Nozomi, Zun, or Miyako then she’s good to invest in during the early days.
Strongest 2 star characters
Miyako
She is the best physical tank in the early game, her abilities include invisibility for some time and self-heal. She is recommended to be used for nearly all game modes.
Tamaki
Another great unit to wipe off magic attacker units like Hatsune, she will always target magic units who have the highest attack even if they are in the backline. Very useful in the arena and she’s good to invest in.
Banner schedule for 1st year
Till now the developers have followed the same schedule for global but there can change made to it.
Princess Connect! Re: Dive Guide: Tips and Tricks
These are some of our additional tips and tricks that will guide you in your journey in Princess Connect Re Dive.
General Tips
- Complete all your daily missions and increase your player level as soon as possible, your player level is the max level your units can go
- Try to increase the ranks of your core units as soon as you unlock their gear farming stage
- You can refill your stamina but don’t do it more than 3 times daily and preferably do it during 2x drop events
Hard Stage Shard Farming
Priority goes Yui until 2 stars, Saren until you get her, Pecorine until 2 stars (Only if you don’t have any tank), Shizuru until you get here and you can farm whichever unit you like.
Grotto
You will receive mana and exp potions for clearing different levels and you should try to reach the maximum level available as soon as possible to get more rewards. Every day 2 attempts are given in mana and exp potion quests so never forget to do this.
Unit formation
Units with different roles have their own positioning, tanks are at the front, supports are at the back or middle, mages and archers are usually at the back (these have a few exceptions). In every team composition tanks are a must or your team will get shredded in a few seconds, preferable team composition generally has 1-2 tanks, 1-2 single DPS or AOE DPS, 1 support, 1 healer for the most stages healers are not needed.
The game is not much time-demanding an hour or two every day is enough to progress, there is also no need for many strategies if you are a casual payer but still getting the hang of things may help you in your adventures and this Princess Connect Re Dive guide is here just for that. Just remember this game is all about collecting waifus, don’t stress too much on meta or pulling for the best characters, if u like a character that is ranked high enough in a tier list, don’t think too much and pull for her.
You will have more fun this way
