- Intelligent navigation: The vacuum cleaner has gyroscope and other sensors on board for orientation in space. He moves the surfaces to be cleaned halfway systematically lane by lane. However, the device does not have a laser navigation system that scans its surroundings with the help of light pulses and measures it precisely. After all, there are fall sensors that reliably prevent the vacuum cleaner from tumbling down the stairs to the ground floor, for example.
- Start and operation work conveniently via app on mobile phone or tablet and by pressing the buttons on the device. Medion does not include a remote control.
- Running time: At full suction power, this is just under 80 minutes. A four to five hour break from cleaning is required to recharge the empty battery.
- Automatic functions: The device automatically returns to the charging station when the battery is empty. The Medion robot sucks so thoroughly
In addition to a main brush and two side brushes, the robotic vacuum cleaner has a powerful motor that is supposed to thoroughly clean away even heavy dirt. After a few trial rounds to get to know the premises, it’s time to get down to business: We lay the bait out of 70 grams of cat litter, 20 grams of Msli and 10 grams of wood chips, served on PVC and carpeting. The MD 19601 must now repeatedly show how big his appetite really is. The suction power was acceptable in the test: At 75.4 grams, the device picked up three quarters of the dirt. That worked better on the smooth floor covering than on the carpet. The brush only combed it a little and didn’t tickle all of the dirt out of the fibers. A lot of things were left lying on the surfaces, but around table legs the smart helper worked quite accurately. Less conscientiously he took care of the edges and corners of the rooms: of the 20 corn kernels laid out there, he only collected seven – a mixed achievement.

And: while expensive vacuum cleaners recognize carpets automatically and leave them out when wiping, the MD 19601 guides you over the carpeting in a humid and carefree manner!
