Medion Akoya E16402: More display
The Medion notebook is slightly larger than most notebooks: Instead of the usual 15.6 inches, the display measures 16 inches – a welcome extra centimeter of image diagonal. The edge to the left and right of the display is nice and narrow, so the Aldi notebook (dimensions 37.0×24.5×2.0 centimeters) is hardly larger than a 15-inch device. Weighing in at 1.95 kilograms, it is not a flyweight – but for the price and size, that’s perfectly fine. The display shows the usual ones in this price range 1920×1080 pixels (Full HD) and works with IPS technology. This should ensure high image quality regardless of the viewing angle – the test will show how good the image really is.

Medion Akoya E16402: More software than usual
Most notebooks (with the exception of the Windows 10 operating system) only have a small amount of software. Usually only a 30-day version of a virus protection program, sometimes an annual version of Office 365. With the Akoya E16402, however, Medion packs special versions of Photo Director 8 and Power Director 16 for editing photos and videos. On top of that there is a voucher for SoftMaker Office 2021 as an alternative to Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The Office suite can be installed on up to five computers.

Medion Akoya E16402: Price and availability
The Medion Akoya E16402 is from July 29, 2021 at Aldi (Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd) to buy and cost 599 euros. The complete test will appear in the next few days as soon as all measurements in the COMPUTER BILD laboratory have been completed.
