In today’s computer gaming news, learn more about one of PC gaming’s most iconic gun AWP especially in CS:GO just got nerfed. Meanwhile, Microsoft and NVIDIA have launched a multi-year partnership to develop one of the most powerful AI supercomputers. Lastly, a recent survey found that among British children aged 13 and under, Roblox is the most played video game app. Unfortunately, a growing number of young players are reporting encountering distressing or even dangerous information within the game.
An Iconic PC Gaming Gun Was Nerfed

CS:GO players expect the AWP, the renowned sniper rifle that has crushed hearts and wrought legends for 20 years, will be a 1-shot-kill god gun. Yes, but the AWP just been nerfed. I hope it’s sunny.
AWP’s magazine size has been lowered from 10 to 5. Valve shared the news alongside CS:newest GO’s patch, which lowers the M4A1-S’s range and removes Dust 2 from the Active Duty map pool.
“The AWP magazine has been reduced to five bullets (so make them count!)”
“Make them count” indeed—a 50% reduction in ammo at the ready will affect how many players (and pros) use this powerful $4,750 weapon. An AWP in the proper hands can shift the course of a match, hence most pro teams have one or more. It’s not rare for a competent AWPer to chain together two, three, or four kills, win the round, and employ the same AWP in the next round to do it again. It’s the most expensive rifle in CS:GO, but with a slimmer magazine, players must decide if it’s worth it.

Most? Probably. AWP is a dangerous gun. If you miss once, adversaries can spray you. That’s still true with a 5-round mag, but having to reload more often will limit a single player’s ability to spam, noscope into narrow spots, and shut down a full squad of five even if they miss some shots. The AWP nerf has the CS:GO community panicked, confused, and cautiously optimistic.
“People will reload,” said Redditor Sosen (opens in new tab).
“Those who aren’t ill AWP players should be passive. We can’t peek forever “Add mcucsgo.
Three days after French AWPer kennyS returned to the game after an 18-month sabbatical, Valve reduced his favorite rifle.

When Valve makes a change to a key weapon, it tends to stick. Last major AWP update occurred in 2007 The 2015 patch nerfed scoped-in movement speed, so AWPers couldn’t quick-peek angles for instant kills as they did for years. In February 2020, the AWP got a slight nerf to its movement acceleration, although the adjustment was so small it didn’t make the blog post.
Curiously, the 5-round mag modification makes the AWP closer to its counterpart in Valorant. Riot’s Operator rifle (“Op” for short) has a 5-round mag. Before today, magazine size was the primary difference between these two popular rifles—in every other manner, they’re the same.
Maybe Valve is copying Riot’s tactical shooter, which would be fair considering the League of Legends studio copied Counter-entire Strike’s arrangement.
NVIDIA and Microsoft Build a Cloud AI Supercomputer
Original Source: NVIDIA Teams With Microsoft to Build Massive Cloud AI Computer
NVIDIA announced a multi-year collaboration with Microsoft to build one of the world’s most powerful AI supercomputers, powered by Microsoft Azure’s advanced supercomputing infrastructure and NVIDIA GPUs, networking, and AI software to help enterprises train, deploy, and scale AI, including large, state-of-the-art models.
Azure’s cloud-based AI supercomputer uses scalable ND- and NC-series virtual machines for AI distributed training and inference. It is the first public cloud to combine NVIDIA’s advanced AI stack, bringing tens of thousands of NVIDIA A100 and H100 GPUs, NVIDIA Quantum-2 400Gb/s InfiniBand networking, and the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software suite to its platform.
As part of the collaboration, NVIDIA will use Azure’s scalable virtual machine instances to research and accelerate advances in generative AI, a rapidly emerging area of AI in which foundational models like Megatron Turing NLG 530B are the basis for unsupervised, self-learning algorithms to create new text, code, digital images, video, or audio.
The businesses will also optimize Microsoft’s DeepSpeed software. NVIDIA’s AI processes and SDKs will be offered to Azure enterprise customers.
Advances in AI technology and commercial usage are fast. “The breakthrough of foundation models has spurred a tidal wave of research, promoted new businesses, and enabled new enterprise applications,” said Manuvir Das, NVIDIA’s VP of enterprise computing. Our collaboration with Microsoft will give AI infrastructure and tools to researchers and companies.
Scott Guthrie, executive vice president of Microsoft’s Cloud + AI Group, said AI is fuelling the next wave of automation in companies and industrial computing, allowing organizations to achieve more with less while they manage economic uncertainty. “Our cooperation with NVIDIA unlocks the world’s most scalable supercomputer platform, delivering state-of-the-art AI for any enterprise on Azure.”
Peak Scalability Azure’s NVIDIA Compute and Quantum-2 InfiniBand
Microsoft Azure’s AI-optimized virtual machine instances feature NVIDIA’s most sophisticated data center GPUs and 400Gb/s InfiniBand networking. Customers may use hundreds of GPUs in a single cluster to train vast language models, develop complicated recommender systems, and enable creative AI at scale.
The current Azure instances have NVIDIA Quantum 200Gb/s InfiniBand networking and NVIDIA A100 GPUs. Future ones will use NVIDIA H100 GPUs and Quantum-2 400Gb/s InfiniBand networking. Combined with Azure’s superior compute cloud architecture, networking, and storage, these AI-optimized services will provide scalable peak performance for any AI training or deep learning inference application.
Boosting AI Development and Deployment
The platform will support Microsoft DeepSpeed and the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software stack.
Microsoft DeepSpeed will use the NVIDIA H100 Transformer Engine to accelerate transformer-based models for huge language models, generative AI, and coding. This method adds 8-bit floating point precision to DeepSpeed, doubling the throughput of 16-bit processes.
NVIDIA AI Enterprise is certified and supported on Microsoft Azure instances with A100 GPUs. In a future software version, Azure will support GPUs from NVIDIA H100.
NVIDIA AI Enterprise optimizes every stage of the AI workflow, from data processing and AI model training through simulation and large-scale deployment.
More Kids Have Seen Scary Stuff or Been Abused on Roblox
Original Source: Roblox: More children say they’ve seen worrying content or suffered abuse
A recent survey found that Roblox is the most popular online game for kids under 13.
It’s free and lets you play millions of games or make your own and share it.
More than 25 million kids play it worldwide, and many schools utilize it to educate kids how to design online games.
I’ve noticed a spike in children finding distressing and hazardous content on the web.
