The icy winds from the Western Himalayas have increased the cold in Delhi. On Tuesday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was 4.1 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal due to the chilling cold wave. This was the lowest temperature this season. Talking about Nainital, the minimum temperature was 5 and 8 degrees in Dehradun. In this way, Delhi was colder than these hill cities.

At the same time, the maximum temperature in Delhi was also 18.5 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal, while it was recorded at 19.4 degrees on Monday. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature can fall to three degrees. A cold wave is declared when the minimum temperature is less than 10 degrees in the plains.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature was recorded at 4.1 degree Celsius on Tuesday morning. In Jaffarpur, the mercury fell to 3.6 degree Celsius. The minimum temperatures at Ayanagar and Lodhi Road meteorological centers were 4.0 and 4.2 degrees Celsius respectively. The minimum temperature was recorded at 2.4 degrees on December 28 in 2019, 2.6 degrees on December 29 in 2018. The all-time record is December 27 in 1930 when the mercury dropped to zero degrees. The outbreak of the cold wave is likely to continue.
