On Wednesday, Tara Sutaria and Sidharth Malhotra’s much-awaited music video Masakali 2.0 was released and it has been trending since then. The song is sung by Tulsi Kumar and Sachet Tandon and has been recreated by the music composer Tanishk Bagchi.
The 3-minute long video features Sidharth and Tara as a romantic couple, who break into a hotel after getting drenched in rain. The music video has opened up to mixed reactions from the netizens. While many loved the video and the peppy beats, there were many who were disappointed with the remake.
On the other hand, the original ‘Masakali’ song from the 2009 movie Delhi 6 is one of the most loved songs from the movie and was composed by the legendary AR Rahman and was sung by Mohit Chauhan and written by Prasoon Joshi.
Meanwhile, the legendary music composed A.R.Rahman took to his micro-blogging site Twitter and shared a note-taking an indirect dig at Tanishq Bagchi and others involved in the remake version of the song.
A.R.Rahman took to his twitter and expressed how he is very upset with the remake. In his note, he expressed how a lot goes into creating an original song. He wrote:
“No short cuts, properly commissioned, sleepless nights, writes and re-writes. Over 200 musicians, 365 days of creative brainstorming with the aim to produce music that can last generations.
A team of a Director, a composer and a Lyricist supported by actors, dance directors and a relentless film crew’
