The Telangana Department of Education announced that the Digital classes for the intermediate second-year students will not be starting from today – August 17, 2020. The start dates for the digital classes for the students will be released on the official website shortly. The Telangana State Education Minister had announced the start of the digital classes for the intermediate second-year students and the students from class 6 to 10 students from August 17 to 20, 2020.
The government though circular stated that the decision was taken due to the continuous heavy rains experienced in the state.
Digital Classes inauguration postponed
In the statement released, it has been mentioned that the Department of Intermediate Education had decided to begin the digital classes for the intermediate students through Doordarshan and T-SAT from august 17, 2020. However, the inauguration of the digital classes which was to be done by Sabitha Indra Reddy, Education Minister, has been postponed due to the continuous heavy rains in the state. The teachers who were asked to report to the schools from Monday have been directed to wait until further instructions are released by the government.
Classes conducted online since March 2020
State governments are conducting online or digital classes for the students since the nationwide lockdown was imposed in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The classes are being conducted via tools such as YouTube or TV to make sure that the students do not miss out on the classes due to the lockdown imposed.
Schools across the country have been closed since March 2020 due to which examinations have also been cancelled. The schools have cancelled the exams for the students until class 9 and the students will be postponed based on the marks secured by the students in the previous examinations or baked on the assignments submitted.
