Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Revealed At DC Fandome

After a long wait, Rocksteady has finally revealed its next game with an in-depth look at DC Fandome, titled Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. The studio had announced its Suicide Squad game with the promise of more details to come and a teaser image of a target over Superman’s head. The teaser-trailer expanded on that concept and announced a release date of 2022 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.

The debut trailer shown during DC Fandome featured several members of the squad goofing off and then reluctantly springing into action against enemy forces. It ended with Superman showing up and apparently killing a civilian, as the Suicide Squad realized they would have to take down the hero.

A follow-up with host Will Arnett suggested the four main characters will be Harley Quinn, Deadshot, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang, tasked with defeating the Justice League. It’s 1-4 player co-op with all four characters represented, though you can play single-player and have your companions played by AI and switch between them.

Arnett also conducted a brief interview with Rocksteady’s Sefton Hill, who said that this game is part of the Arkham universe. That means that fans will see connections to that series, though they didn’t specify what those might be.

Earlier in the event, we got a look at WB Montreal’s next game, Gotham Knights. That was promoted with a week of teaser puzzles that dropped clues about Batman villains ranging from the Court of Owls to Two-Face. It takes place in a world without Bruce Wayne, so the co-op game focuses on various other members of the Bat-family.

Meanwhile, this reveal comes as Rocksteady deals with allegations that it failed to act in response to reports of workplace harassment. In response, one of the writers of Suicide Squad asked to have her name removed from the game. The studio released a letter claiming that most of the female employees who reported issues to the company have since said that the culture has improved, and subsequently issued a full statement on its response.
