PM Modi’s Address to IIT Guwahati Convocation: As per the latest update, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address students at the 22nd Convocation Ceremony of IIT Guwahati Today. Other Dignitaries at the Convocation Function

Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be joined by other dignitaries as well which includes Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Minister of State for Education Sanjay Dhotre, both of whom would also be addressing the convocation function as guest of honour. They will be joined by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will be present as the special guest for the Convocation Ceremony.

Apart from political dignitaries, the convocation ceremony would also Dr. Rajiv I Modi, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Guwahati and Professor TG Sitharam, Director, IIT Guwahati, deliver their address to the virtual gathering, especially for the batch passing out of the technology school.

1803 Students to Receive Their Degrees

As per the information shared by the premier institute, a total of 1803 students from IIT Guwahati would be receiving their degrees and medals during the virtual convocation ceremony. Of the total number, 687 BTech and 637 MTech students this year are expecting to receive their degrees at the virtual convocation function. Similar to IIT Bombay’s Convocation Ceremony held earlier in the year, the institute plans on giving virtual reality-based convocation experience to the students using the “avatars’ of the graduates, directors and other medal-holders. The institute, this year, has also created a photo-booth for students to take pictures at some selected locations on the campus. The faculty and students have developed a telepresence module for a virtual visit to IIT Guwahati.
