Ob Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney + or Sky, the offers from the streaming providers are huge. Therefore, various streaming platforms offer the opportunity to try out their service for a limited period of time free of charge. In mid-June 2020, Disney + removed the one-week free period from its offer. Now Netflix is following suit and abolishing the free trial period of 30 days in some regions, the provider confirms in his help center. Accordingly, there is no longer a free trial period in Germany.
In Austria there is still the free month
The free month is still available in other countries such as the USA, Switzerland or Austria. However, Netflix has partially increased the prices there: New customers in Austria pay for the standard subscription, which allows streaming in HD quality on two devices at the same time, instead of 11.99 euros now 12.99 euros per month. The premium subscription with 4K quality increases in price from 15.99 euros to 17.99 euros per month. For existing customers, the new prices apply from the beginning of the next billing period. The basic version, which only offers standard quality (SD), still costs 7.99 euros. It is unclear whether Netflix will also adjust prices in Germany.
