According to media reports, the students from the Scheduled Caste communities from Maharashtra who have enrolled themselves in Foreign Universities will now be able to apply online for scholarships until August 28, 2020. The applications are open for only those students pursuing postgraduate and higher education programmes for the 2020-21 Academic year.
With the help of this scholarship, the students shortlisted from the application process pursuing postgraduate or research programmes will be provided with financial assistance for completing their course.
The Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR), Maharashtra Government in a recent tweet stated that the Scheduled Caste students pursuing a postgraduate degree and similar Higher Educational courses from reputed international universities will now be able to apply for the Foreign Scholarships in the 2020-21 Academic year. The applications will be available online until August 28, 2020.
Programmes for Scholarship Scheme
The students in the fields of Engineering, Management, Pure Science and Applied Science, Agricultural Science and Medicine, Commerce, Accounting and Finance and Humanities and Social Science will be provided with the scholarships.
Scholarship Scheme Details
According to the Scholarship scheme, 100 awards will be provided which will be dependent on the availability of funds, per year. 30 percent of the awards each year are earmarked for the female candidates. The slots vacant from the previous year are carried forward to the next year.
