W.he is looking for inexpensive smartphones hardly ever arrives Samsung’s Galaxy A series over. There is something suitable for many requirements in several price and size classes. Mostly garnished with a big battery and a crisp OLED screen. When it comes to the battery, the Samsung Galaxy A32 is no exception, but otherwise a lot has changed compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy A31.

Galaxy A32: 5G top, display flop!
With 5G, the currently fastest (increasingly) available cellular standard, Samsung is offering the Galaxy A32 5G, the cheapest Galaxy smartphone with 5G to date. Prices start at 279 euros. Before you cheer, you should know the hook of the story right away, because instead of a high-contrast OLED display in the Galaxy A31, only a TFT display is used in the A32 5G, which not only loses out in terms of contrast, but with HD + -Resolution on top of that offers even less resolution than the A31 with 2400×1080 pixels (FHD +). Without having seen or tested the new TFT, we let ourselves be carried away to say that this is a step backwards! Those who are insensitive to contrast and resolution may comfort themselves with 5G speed.

The Samsung Galaxy A32 has four lenses on the back. The main camera (f / 2.4) with a maximum of 48 megapixels (MP) and the ultra-wide-angle camera (f / 2.2; 8 MP) are responsible for photos. In standard mode, the main camera combines four pixels into one optimized pixel (pixel binning), so that an image with 12 MP is created. There is also a macro camera (f / 2.4; 5 MP) and an auxiliary camera (2 MP) for depth information. On paper there is no change compared to the predecessor Galaxy A31. It should be emphasized that nothing stands out. The cameras sit flush in the housing. The front camera (f / 2.4) embedded in the so-called Infinity V display has an unchanged resolution of 13 megapixels.

The Galaxy A32 5G is said to have a “silky matt back” and appears in the colors Awesome Black, Awesome White, Awesome Violet and Awesome Blue. The main thing is awesome! The Galaxy A32 5G will be available from February 12, 2021 in the Samsung online shop and in German stores. With 64 GB the RRP is 279 euros, with 128 GB it is 299 euros.
